250 Chickenpants is a lot of Chickenpants (plus, there's a contest!)

On July 9th, 2007 I made a creature that cracked me up. I had no idea he'd crack so many of you up, too. Not to mention become my own personal creative obsession.

A little over two years later, I find that I've made 250 Chickenpants. 250? 250! 250.
This is a really big deal for me. I never thought I would make so many of anything. When I first started making plush, I was also painting. Mostly foxes. I'd never been able to stick with any one subject matter long enough to make a series. I had done literally every art/craft from writing to glass fusing and back again. Nothing stuck, and I thought nothing ever would. Then suddenly, Chickenpants took over my life.
So, without any further ado, let me present to you Herb Chickenpants, Number 250:



(You can say hello to him in the shop, if you're so inclined. ^-^)
So how are we going to celebrate this? The only way the internet knows how...with a contest!

It's my Etsy-versary!

One year ago today, I took the leap and opened up my very own Etsy shop. It's been a nail-biting, slow and painful, fast and exciting, crazy oxymoron willy-nilly punctuation learning experience of a year! It has been great. I want to officially thank everyone for all the support, hearts, and of course sales!
So, in honor of one year of Etsy-ness, it's time for another raffle!
This time it's for a February 2008 Chickenpants Limited print- "Kitchen Invasion".


Chickenpants Limited prints are released every month in
editions of only 30. They measure 5 x 7 inches (12.7 cm x 17.8 cm). Each one is signed and numbered by the artist (me!).

250th Post!

I always forget about these things, or they manage to zip right past me. In any case, this here post is the 250th one! So you know what this means: Wee Bitty Contest!

So, in other news: Dog is still lumpy. Mergh. Also, I finally got to paint yesterday! I've been whining about wanting to paint for weeks now. It was really good to get some painting done. I didn't actually finish anything, but it didn't matter. It was just good to smoosh paint around.

Also, inspired by the very nifty photos taken by Objetsmart on Flickr, I've started a new group: Chickenpants Playground. The general portability of the Chickenpants makes them excellent companions for photographic expeditions. Have a look, and please join! It'll be fun, really.
