It is of my opinion that what is "right" is what is good for you and what is "wrong" is that which is not so good for you. So in terms of doing something wrong that would make quilters want to puke, was it? is it wrong to pursue your happiness, which in this case is a finished quilt? Nay! Even if pursuing your happiness takes you away from any specified technique, it does not make your pursuit wrong. Not by a long shot. We are people, not machines, and each of us is different, unique in our own way with our own ways of getting things done. There are probably as many ways to quilt as there are quilters. I'm also sure that there are probably certain technique categories that each quilter generally loosely or strictly follows, but it doesn't make any one way of quilting right and all the others wrong. Were it not for individuality, there would never be anything new. Without anything new, we never progress. Without progression, we remain stuck in patterns of thought and living which get us nowhere. How mundane and sad, really, in my opinion.

That being said, you seem pretty comfortable with your way of doing things, even if they can get to be hairy and, shall I say, nail-biting? This quilt story was kind of a nail-biter to me :) So it doesn't really seem like you're the type of person who necessarily doesn't realize anything of what I said, but I thought it was worth saying all the same.

Nice work on the quilt....my old roommate's [now] husband is terrified of bunnies....maybe I should show him this....muahahahahaaaaa!Jennynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5368217216980926875.post-54304284848665242722011-08-17T20:59:22.000-07:002011-08-17T20:59:22.000-07:00yes, well i tend to be long winded when it comes t...yes, well i tend to be long winded when it comes to comments, telling stories, improvised dance phrases (i am/was a dancer), projects such as housework, laundry, crochet...pretty much anything i think.....i guess i'm just one of those people....you know...the long winded ones?

did you ever solve the mystery as to why they weren't lining up? or is that a buried hatchet not to be unearthed?
